Beautiful tribute to your true father 💜 I'm glad you also married a man who is a good father.

Having endured abandonment by my own father twice, I especially identified with your writing. Thank you for sharing. Lucky for me, my maternal grandfather stepped in to help raise me, and I was all the better for it. Best belated Father’s Day wishes to your dad and your husband!!

Thank you SE. Beautifully said. From the baseball great Wade Boggs - “Anyone can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a dad”.

I thought all day about both Dad’s missing them. Remembering the fishing trips we took going on a float trip down the Rogue River. Every, April 4 th we did this. My birth father we did the same thing accept from the bank of the Rogue River or on lake , called Lake of The Woods in Oregon. We caught a lot of fish during fourth of July weekend, once, he played a trick on us girls so we found some super glue and glued the men’s door shut. You should have heard him yell, very loud. We all had a laugh at his expense, he said , I deserved that sorry ladies for not pulling the boat to shore, so you could use the bathroom. Both fathers got a long very well. Yes we had to tinkle in a bucket, I thought it was so disgusting 🤢. He never did that again. It wasn’t until he turned 85 that he himself took a blood 🧬 test to confirm, I was his child. My other dad passed away twenty five years ago in May. His birthday on April 4 2000 we took a float trip down the Rogue River. He said thank you for your artistry with a fly rod. He said , 😘. My birth father passed away in August of 2021. He was 93. He went to war on 6 November 1943, he was born June 8, 1928. He was a big guy at 15. They taught me to be faithful, have compassion, and courage for everyone in this country. They don’t owe me anything, at all . There love 💕 for me was always there even though at times, they would both tell me to speak out or use a platform, for computer or phone. God Bless You, S. E, and your family.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Looking back is often accompanied by some pain, but also helps us understand ourselves so much better.
