I’m tired of too many people blaming the Dems for bringing back Trump.

Hey Republicans - (SE included) - YOU own this mess!

Your many years of incessant political deception, distortion and dissembling ultimately caused Trump to happen.

You played the game with reckless abandon. Republicans earned this. They must fix it; NOT the Dems.

Wow. And BTW - How do you then explain that 12% of Bernie’s supporters ended up voting for Trump? They are the ones who ruined our country out of their sheer childish spite. Explain that away too.

This appears to be an incoherent comment with no actual evidence to support such a premise. What deception, individually or in totality, die SE and others like her cause? If you want to do root cause analysis, in fact, the data actually supports Democrats' never ineptitude on the issue. Whether that's lying about Biden's cognitive abilities, cheating Bernie in the primaries, getting debate questions in advanced leaked by Donna Brazille, writing a book about how it's everyone's fault....the data clearly says the completely opposite of what you are asserting.

And BTW, 1). Bernie is not even a Democrat. He would have been destroyed in a general election (I’m a big fan of his but I’m also a realist)

2). And Republicans are lying about Trump’s “cognitive abilities” every day too.

1. not relevant

2. Republicans lying about Trump’s cognitive abilities is called the what about ism logical fallacy. It does nothing to dispute anything I’ve put forward. All it means is they are guilty as well, it is not what we would call exculpatory evidence.

3. As a scientist twice over, particularly a Data scientist, let me correct you right there. The evidence says the complete opposite. A) The MSNBC and other matchups studied this and measured it. Bernie did way better and consistently better than Hillary Clinton ever did against Donald Trump. B) He won two of the three states she lost but won, he lost PA but won with the demographic that cost the election, white men. C) He had higher perceived honesty, likability, and overall approval, ratings, all of which are statistically correlated to performance in the general election. He had higher voter enthusiasm as well, same statistical correlation. D) Unlike Hillary Clinton, he was not being investigated by James Comey, who later reopened the investigation and Nate Silver correctly quantified that yes, this did have a material impact on the election. E) Polled better with independents and Republicans. F) Bernie Sanders continues to have the highest approval rating in the Senate. Bernie Sanders continues to pack the stadiums. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has abandoned the most marginalized, and has thrown trans kids under the bus.

There is no quantitative evidence to support your hypothesis. In contrast, Hillary failed twice, both times getting more votes, but both times it was clear there was no steam left in her campaign. History has shown Bernie continues to be loved by the masses and still won’t stop fighting for us. Democrats did more to stop Bernie Sanders than Hillary Clinton. Did to stop Donald Trump and that’s why they lost. Because the party is incompetent and crooked. Let’s stop pretending otherwise. The fact, Donald Trump and his friends are less competent and less ethical, does not exonerate them.

You’re ignoring all the polls that are still available to see. Take a look. Bernie is a rock star. But Hillary was always far ahead. Take a look at the 2016 primary polling below -

I’m not ignoring them, they were consistently trending downward, and it didn’t hold. And the polls were against Trump versus Hillary, not Bernie versus Trump. Bernie consistently outperformed Hillary when Trump was his opponent. That’s the key detail you’re not getting. You are sighting, Hillary V Bernie, and I’m telling you to focus instead on Bernie V Trump. These are two very different things being measured. It would be helpful if you would be more clear and articulate in the way you communicate. And like I said, do actual trend analysis, both against Bernie and against Trump, just like 2008 all over again, her numbers kept dwindling and dwindling. Moreover, you don’t actually dispute anything else I’ve put into evidence. Meaning you don’t have any rebuttals to anything else, other than this one specific point, which I’ve now disputed on several grounds.

I actually do like SE, but she is (and always will be) a “Republican Lite”.

I am not blaming her directly for bringing us Trump.

I’m blaming her for generally supporting and contributing to the party and the smarmy fiscal policies of all the Republican dirtbags that CREATED Trump in the first place.

Genuine question how much do you blame Hillary Clinton? A candidate that was being actively criminally investigated by the FBI, and James Comey correctly said it was an active criminal investigation, not the security review. Like him, I agree that the act itself was criminal, but there was no proof of intent, and given this was a specific intent crime, not a general intent crime, charges were not appropriate here. But as an auditor who’s worked for the federal reserve for nearly 15 years, I will tell you it was pure incompetence and wildly unethical. Not to mention, refusing to step aside when it became clear that the attitude towards her had shifted in the end, just like 2008 all over again (she had more votes then too).

But most importantly, her Pied Piper strategy confirms that she intentionally elevated Donald Trump. This is a statement of fact. Hillary Clinton’s campaign, intentionally employed the Pied Piper strategy to elevate Donald Trump, thinking he would be so easy to beat in the general election. Do you not see any issue with how she behaved and how that led to him? And how she ultimately gambled and the voters lost because of her arrogance?

No, you provided an opinion that has no basis in anything. And Democrats weren’t ready for Trump either. In fact, from a SWOT perspective, not being trained on Bernie is a strategic/tactical advantage for Bernie, not a weakness. Whereas Hillary, I’m sure they have a mountain of a playbook and were ready & waiting for it. In strategy, having less time to come up with a strategy against a different opponent is a comp complication, and a position of weakness, not strength, at least not on its face, i.e. prima facie. I have no idea what makes you think from a strategic standpoint being given a completely new opponent would be a benefit. Look how that worked with Kamala Harris….🙄

You are making a position that is inherently untenable. You people claim to listen to scientists, but the scientist is clearly telling you nothing you say has any basics in fact or evidence. You just don’t wanna listen.

Since CNN can't seem to write a headline these days, heres one for you: "The world's richest man is killing the world's poorest children" This is a quote from Bill Gates in a May 2025 interview with the Financial Times. In this interview, Gates criticized Elon Musk for his role in significant cuts to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which he argued could lead to increased child mortality due to preventable diseases like measles, HIV, and polio.

It does not matter who is in the Democrats leadership. Due to the Senate filibuster, Democrats will never be able to pass their agenda.

Look at what they did under Joe Biden’s administration:

Inflation Reduction Act

Build Back Better (Infrastructure)

Science and Chips Act

Juneteenth Act

Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act

That’s it. With the filibuster, you can only pass five bills per Congress.

Because Republicans effectively rendered Congress broken because they will filibuster any Democratic bill, they get to make the Democrats look bad, and we keep going back and forth when the problem is not the two parties:

It’s the filibuster

How do we stop Trump? Here's a suggestion: Start highlighting those members of congress that are holding this administration's feet to the fire. Theres a real fight going on in these hearings and there needs to be a light shown on these heroic Americans that are standing up to power and risking their safety and careers. Senator Chris Murphy would be a good place to start and there are many more on both sides of the isle. Their stories need to be told.

I agree that people have gotten the wrong idea about democrats, but why did they get the wrong idea. They got the wrong idea because the right wing media hammered them day in and day out. Then the main stream media decided to treat Trump like a “normal candidate. Now, we are rehashing what the Dems got wrong by everyone every single day over and over and over. Unfortunately SE they are not going to do the policy change that you want so that they look like old republicans. If we don’t start hammering the republicans every single day over and over and over and stop “talking about the Dems being wrong or that is all they will hear.

Im sorry I feel betrayed by Jake Tapper and CNN. If President Biden was unfit to serve, Jake and CNN had a duty to report it then, and not now when our economy and democracy is literally being burnt to the ground. I'm disgusted by the monetization and timing of this story. I couldn't finish listening to Jake's interview on NPR, it made me physically sick. It's a dangerous distraction that feels wrong on many fronts. Here we have the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, showing the world that she doesn't even have an 8th grader's understanding of the Constitution, republicans are cutting Medicaid and taking healthcare from millions of Americans while legalizing silencers for assault rifles and increasing the inheritance tax exemption to 30 million so the rich elite can pass their wealth on tax free. All of these important stories are buried under headlines of Diddy's trial, Norm from Cheers death, and some Mexican sail boat. To me, this is not helping the cause and feels like a lack of focus and priority. Where is the outrage? Has everyone been desensitized by this administration? Oh and Im glad you were on some pod cast...

Well, I certainly hope senior democrats aren’t taking anything you have to say seriously. We have actual progressives talking to them, defending Hogg and his approach, and gearing up to primary blue dogs and corporate democrats to worry about the mattering of a credibility free concern troll who was part of the machine that brought about this mess. Keep talking, and make that money, but never imagine that any actual progressive gives any credence to a word that comes out of your mouth.
